Ultimate Civil War Spider-Ham
this comic was a lot of fun. it makes fun of so many things in the comic business. everything from the bloody dollar sign on the front cover, to the super hero merchandising act, to traveling to different dimensions. and you even get a feel good lesson learned at the end. i think anyone wanting a break from serious adventures should pick this up and have a good laugh. the best part is to see all different artists do different rendions of ham-heroes. important? not so much. but it should make you smile.

Great idea RLR!
"Recently bought The Phantom #14 from Moonstone and here's my review of it:First of, the cover by the team of JOE PRADO, CARLOS MAGNO and ROD REIS is very good, very mysterious! The interior art from Carlos Magno looked very nice and the colours from Bob Pedroza were nice and clean. Scriptwise, the stort moves at a lightning speed and I loved the the little references here and there which paid tribute to old Lee Falk stories like "The Childhood of the Phantom" [The "Heh..No, ma'am Guran isn't with me" must surely be a tribute to Childhood of the Phantom??] Plus there are a few Jungle Sayings thrown in there for good measure!! It hasn't taken Mike Bullock to hit his stride with this book!" |

Ultimate Spider-Man Volume 5.
One of the shortest volumes of USM but I enjoyed it as much as the last Volume. Some of the villains were the Ryno (who by the way played a small part) and A normal man dressing as Spider-Man and robbing banks.
It was an interesting volume. It really digs into the pitfalls of being a small time super hero. Like A.) Getting shot in the shoulder, B.) Being impersonated by a nobody and C.) Breaking up with the only woman who has true feelings for you.
What I really like about this USM volume was, as always, the incredible artwork by Bagley, if I may restate; I'd like to say that Mark Bagley is freaking awesome.
GO MARK!
